Ceramic Treatment

Ceramic crowns and bridges, In-lay and Veneers are dental prosthesis that enhance the aesthetic and proves the functionality of the masticatory organs.

Crowns: These are caps used to cover teeth that have been weakened by decay or heavy fillings or are severely damaged, fractured, discolored or maligned. It is also used on root filled teeth with or without post and core. The common materials used these days are metal (gold) porcelain, or porcelain fused to metal. This can last for upwards of fifteen years depending on the care and material used.

Bridge: This is an appliance that is fixed to the remaining teeth and replaces a missing tooth or teeth. A bridge  fills the gap where a tooth or teeth once stood as long as there are otherwise healthy teeth onto which “abutments” (two crowns) can be placed in order to support the missing tooth (pontic).

Veneers: They are wafer- thin, custom- made shells that cover the front surface of teeth. They are bonded to the front of the teeth, changing their colour, shape, size or length, mostly made from porcelain. It offers a conservative approach to changing a tooth’s colour and shape compared to crowns. Veneers are great in cosmetic makeovers, giving great bright smiles.
